Paeonia rockii cultivars are the rarest and most beautiful tree peonies in the world. They grow wild in the mountains of the Chinese province of Gansu, at altitudes of over 2,000 metres. That is why they are able to withstand very cold winters, as well as hold, dry summers. The flower, with its intense scent, is characterised by a dark, almost black stain at the base of the petals.
